With the advent of video streaming services such as Hulu, Netflix, Hotstar, Amazon Prime, and others, television viewing is rapidly changing around the world. DTH may soon be a thing of the past, and it will be for the better. Video streaming services provide viewers with not only more and better content, but also a true choice. They can choose from millions of TV shows, movies, documentaries, and other options. The Amazon Fire TV Stick is the most recent addition to the video streaming market.
Amazon Prime Video, Hotstar, Netflix, Gaana, and a slew of other services are available on the FireStick, which is an exclusive Amazon offering. However, this isn’t the Fire Stick’s only selling point. You guessed correctly. Alexa is supported by the Fire Stick remote. So you can now relax on your couch and command everything with your voice. Isn’t it incredible?
Sit back and relax if you’re going to buy an Amazon Fire TV Stick or if you already have one and are worried about how to set it up. We’re here to assist you with setting up your Amazon Fire TV Stick for the first time on your television. Everything will be a piece of cake if you carefully follow these steps.
But before we get started with this tutorial, let’s go over a few prerequisites. These are the items you’ll need to get your Amazon Fire TV Stick up and running. Please keep in mind that these items will not be included in your Fire Stick Box!!! These are the following:
A TV that is compatible: This is, without a doubt, the most important requirement. To use the Fire Stick, you’ll need at least an HDTV with an HDMI port.
Internet Access: The Fire Stick does not have its own internet connection. To properly stream high definition videos, you’ll need to connect your Fire Stick to an active and strong WiFi connection.
Last but not least, you will need to link your Amazon Fire Stick to your Amazon account. The Fire Stick will come pre-registered with your Amazon account if you order it through that account. You can also change it whenever you want.

Setup Instructions for the Amazon Fire Stick
Let’s get started now that you’re all set. Here’s how to get started with your Amazon Fire TV Stick. To make things easier, I’ve divided the setup process into four sections.
Part 1: How to Get Started
STEP 1: Get your Fire TV Stick out of the box. There’s a micro-USB port as well as an HDMI port. Now connect the USB power cable into the Fire Stick’s micro-USB port and the Power Adapter into the other end of the power cord.
STEP 2: Plug the Power Adapter into a wall outlet. (Note: Using the Power Adapter rather than the powered USB Ports offered by a few TVs is recommended.)
STEP 3: Connect the Fire Stick to your TV’s HDMI port. Keep the HDMI Port number in mind because you’ll need to turn on the corresponding HDMI input channel on your TV now.
STEP 4: Turn on your television and select the appropriate HDMI input channel. A loading screen with the Fire TV Stick logo will appear. Don’t be concerned if it takes a while to load the first time.
Step 5: Now you can program your Fire Stick remote. First, put in the two AAA batteries that came with the package.
The remote should now connect to the Fire Stick automatically. If your remote doesn’t pair automatically, simply press and hold the Home button for 10 seconds. This will put your Fire Stick in Discovery Mode and complete the pairing process.
To begin the setup process, press the Play/Pause button on the remote once it has been paired with the FireStick.
Step 6: FireStick will prompt you to select a language preference. To set the language, use the navigation keys on the remote to highlight the desired language and then press the Select/OK button on the remote.
Note: The circular button on the remote labeled “Select/OK” is located inside the navigation buttons.
Connect the Amazon Fire Stick to Wifi
Step 7: Your FireStick will now scan the area for available Wi-Fi networks. When the list of networks appears, select your Wi-Fi and enter your SSID and password (if necessary) to connect.
Register the Fire TV/Stick with an Amazon Account
Step 8: Now it’s time to link your Amazon account to your device. If you ordered your Amazon Fire TV Stick from Amazon, it will be pre-registered. If this isn’t the case, or you’d like to register with a different Amazon account, simply follow the instructions to De-register or Register Your Fire TV. (You can find out more information about it here.)
You should see the following window if your FireStick hasn’t been preregistered. If you already have an Amazon account, choose the first option. If you don’t already have an Amazon account, create one by clicking I’m new to Amazon.
Step 9: Now your FireStick is ready to use. Allow a few moments to pass.
Winding Up Setup Process
Step 10: After you’ve completed the registration, FireStick will ask if you want to save your Wi-Fi password to your Amazon account.
If you have multiple Amazon devices linked to the same Amazon account as the FireStick, selecting Yes will allow those devices to connect to your Wi-Fi network quickly. You might as well choose No if you don’t have any other Amazon devices and don’t plan to buy any in the future.
Step 11: On the next screen, click Enable Parental Controls to enable parental controls on your FireStick. If you do, you’ll be prompted to create a PIN in the next window. For most FireStick activities, you’ll need to enter your PIN.
To proceed, simply click No Parental Controls if you don’t require them.
Step 12: Before getting started with FireStick, click Get Started and select the apps/streaming services you want to install. Click No Thanks if you want to install them later.
This is all you have to do to set up your FireStick 2nd Gen if your remote doesn’t have any TV control buttons (volume and power buttons).
Pair the FireStick remote with TV
The steps below are only for remotes that have TV controls. You can skip this section and go to the next if you don’t have a remote with volume buttons.
Step 13: Click Next when you see this window.
Step 14: Using your remote, adjust the volume up and down.
Make sure the remote is aimed at the television. The IR profile for your TV is used by the TV control buttons. As a result, for TV control functions to work, your TV and remote must be in line of sight.
Step 15: If you heard the sound, select Yes. If this is not the case, click NO to restart the process.
Step 16: After the Fire TV remote has successfully synced, the screen will display the following message.
You’ve finished setting up your FireStick.
How to Use Your Fire Stick for the First Time
You’ll want to get started using your FireStick as soon as possible now that it’s all set up. Here are some exciting things you should know that will make your FireStick experience much better.
Jailbreak FireStick
The Amazon FireStick is a fantastic media streaming device. Through apps like Hulu, Amazon Prime, Netflix and others, you can watch your favorite episodes, movies, and even live TV. However, there is a significant drawback. These services come at a price, one that could easily put a dent in your budget. Furthermore, you wouldn’t be able to get everything you wanted to watch from a single service. You’ll need multiple subscriptions, which will cost even more.
However, you can easily jailbreak your FireStick and watch movies, shows, live TV, and just about anything you want without ever having to pay a penny. Jailbreak is a straightforward, quick, safe, and legal procedure. It will install Kodi on your Fire TV Stick and then uses Kodi Addons and builds to stream content. In a nutshell, it grants you access to an endless supply of free content.
Install the FireStick Apps
No media device is complete without apps, and the FireStick has dozens to choose from. You can install a variety of free and paid apps on your FireStick to enjoy endless hours of streaming. The Amazon Store, which is built into your device, is a huge repository of cool apps like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. If that isn’t enough, there are a slew of fantastic third-party apps that allow you to watch movies and shows for free.
The FireStick runs on a modified version of Android, but it functions similarly to any other Android device. As a result, many third-party Android apps run smoothly on your FireStick. Many of them are remote-friendly, and those that aren’t can always be used with FireStick’s Mouse Toggle. Start by looking through our list of the best FireStick apps.
Use a VPN to protect yourself.
I believe I could never emphasize enough the importance of exercising caution and taking appropriate precautions to ensure your online safety. Your ISP, third-parties such as hackers, and even your own government can all spy on you via the Internet. All of your online activities can easily be linked to you. And there’s a chance you’ll get in trouble if you use third-party apps to stream free movies and shows.
I do not support copyright infringement. However, I am a firm believer in our right to privacy, which must never be violated. As a result, I advise using a VPN with FireStick.
A VPN routes your internet traffic through an encrypted server, ensuring that your online activities remain private and anonymous. ExpressVPN is the fastest and most reliable VPN service for the Fire TV Stick, so I recommend it. Installing and using a VPN on a Fire Stick is easy with this step-by-step guide.
